Natural coconut water does not have a sweet taste, instead, it tastes a little bit of coconut. Some brands of coconut water add sugar to enhance flavor, other brands add other fruit juices, so make sure to always read the ingredients!
The reason coconut water is so healthy is because it is naturally rich in electrolytes, which are essential minerals vital for health. Almost every fluid and cell contains electrolytes and the body uses them for proper muscle function. We are always losing electrolytes, be it through urine or sweat, so it’s important to replenish electrolytes. One way to do so is by adding coconut water to our daily smoothie.
